Racist Nominated to Supreme Court

President Obama has nominated Federal Appeals Court Judge Sonia Sotomayor to the Supreme Court. According to the New York Times, Justice Sotomayor made the following racist (and sexist) statement:

“I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life,” said Judge Sotomayor . . . .
